The best images don’t always happen when everything is posed and perfect. Sometimes, they happen when you relax in the moment and ignore the camera.
That’s what I try to build every session around. They focus on the movement, the connection and the small pieces of a story as it’s actually happening.
Whether it’s senior photos, a surprise engagement, or an intimate Wisconsin elopement, the experience is always meant to feel easy, not stressful. Guidance is always given when needed, but I never want to force anything.
What we create together should be real. It should feel like it’s part of your life, not just a gallery.

Hi, I'm Payton
I’ve always loved things that feel a little old-fashioned. Movies from decades before I was born, classical literature, and piano scores are some of the first things that come to mind. I tend to feel emotions wholly, and I want my photographs to reflect that. They should draw emotion, and should linger in your mind the way the end of a good book does.
What I’m really trying to do is create images that feel like memories. If that sounds like your cup of tea, I’d love to create something beautiful with you.
